Proverbs 14:16
The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence.
There is a very clear distinction between a wise man and a fool. A wise man knows when to be patient and when to carry on with caution. A fool however rushes into all things and never takes the time to think or consider anything before taking action. The wise man lives his life in accordance with the Word of God. He threads on the path that the Lord has laid for Him and is cognizant of all the decisions he makes and the outcomes they will yield. A wise mans confidence is in the Lord and the power of His might. A wise man is aware of the triggers that causes danger in their lives and they seek to avoid them.
As a child of God you ought to be caution in all your ways and avoid all dangers. Only a fool will walk into a bar and sit at the bartending table when they are struggling with alcoholism. As an individual you have the responsibility of avoiding dangers. Do not create dangers for yourself that will cause you to fall. Be wise in all your ways. Avoid all things with the appearance of evil and all things that are enticing to the eyes. Be wise in the choosing of your friends because they will influence the way you make your decisions. Keep wise counsel that you may be able to make wise decisions. Finally let your confidence be in the Lord , and your decisions in line with His word.
