John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
What does love look like to you? Is it receiving gifts on a day as this or being the center of attention in the mist of everyone. Most of us have a misconstrued idea when it comes to love. On this day most people will weigh the magnitude of how much they are loved by what they do or do not receive. Others by the fact that they do not have a significant other to celebrate with, while yet others weigh it by the number of men or women who will flood their timelines or the inboxes and text messages. The truth of the matter however is that all these ideas are flawed.
What does love really look like? It looks like the Cross of Calvary. It looks like blood dripping down the face of the sinless one. It looks like Christ asking the father for forgiveness on our behalf as we put Him to death. Love looks like the sacrifices of our Lord and savior. God is love in every way. He wants you to be reminded that you are loved, not because someone did or did not send you flowers or chocolate or beautiful text messages and lovely wishes. You are loved because He sent His only begotten Son to die so that you might live. You are loved and you matter this day as you do every other day. He is love and He first loved you. So as the world celebrates this day of love do not crouch into a corner of loneliness and sadness. Rather freely rejoice in His great love for you. Rejoice in the fact that He has given you the breath of life today. Rejoice in the simple fact that His love is purer than anything you’ll find on this earth and the unconditional state of His love never wavers. You are loved and adored by the King of all kings. You are enough and you are worth it.
