The enemy finds a way to distract beyond measure every soul he cannot destroy. He finds ways and means to make sure we are so busy that we forget what matters most. This is the reason why some of us find ourselves being involved with a million things all at once. We realize that mentally we are in ten different places at any given time and because of this we begin to lack.
Distractions and temptation will surely come but it’s our responsibility to make sure we are not giving in to anything. What our focus is set upon is also very important when it comes to distractions. If our focus, our minds, and our hearts are set upon God no distraction will be able to side track us.
When we look at the Israelites in Exodus 1, we see the pharaohs plot to distract them by means of setting taskmasters in place to frustrate and stagnate them. He wanted to distract them with unnecessary tasks so that they will not be able to multiply as much as they were multiplying. The Israelites, however, multiplied all the more because their focus was not on what was being done to them. And that is something we ought to learn from. Do not allow any distraction take your mind or energy from what matters most in life. Set your heart upon the Lord and allow Him to do what He wills in your life. Sit down and sift through your lives to get a picture of where we are and do away with every distraction you find.
Exodus 1:10
“Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”
