1 Corinthians 2:13
“What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”
The Spirit that we have received as sons and daughters of the most High is from the Lord and is of the Lord. He is the Spirit that is in God Himself. He is the Spirit we need in order to hear and understand the Lord when He speaks. He is the Spirit that enables us to see God for who He is. The Spirit of God in us is not the spirit that is in this world. The spirit that is in this world does not understand God. The spirit in this world cannot exist in the space that God occupies. The spirit of this world cannot compete with the Spirit of God.
The Spirit of God gives us understanding. He gives us power and might. The Spirit of the Lord enables us to walk the narrow and righteous path of God. If you are in Christ, you have received the Spirit of God. This Spirit is not a Spirit of mediocrity, therefore we cannot be people who are mediocre. The Spirit of God is Holy and because we have received Him we also ought to be Holy. As the Spirit of God follows the Lord so we also must follow Him because we are not of this world. We belong to the Lord, therefore we follow the Spirit of God not the spirit of the world. Check yourself and determine who your life says you are following. The Spirit you have been given is of God so be of God and not of this world.
