Zacharia 1:3
“Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty.”
One humorous thing we love to say as Christians is “the Lord left us”. We almost always blame Him for our shortcomings. We think that when we cannot hear Him as clearly anymore, or see Him in our day to day lives as much as we once did it means He has left us. One of the greatest truths is that the Lord will never leave us nor will He ever forsake us because that is His Word, and what He says are Ye and Amen. This means that He is not the problem in this equation. Now since the only other factor is us, all the others four fingers point right back at us. We are the ones that leave God. We are the ones the reject and forsake Him. Take this example for instance 2 people standing in the middle of a baseball field, person A never moves but person B steadily makes small strides away from person A. When all is said and done, looking from a distance it may seem like both people walked away but if you look closely in actuality you will realize that one person B has moved.
That is how most of us are in our relationship with the Lord. We walk away from Him and later accuse Him of forsaking us. Whenever you feel like the Lord has left you take a deep look at yourself and you will begin to see where you started to walk away. The Lord is saying unto us all this day, return to me and I will return to you. It doesn’t matter how far you have gone, He is waiting for you and is more than willing to take you back only if you return to Him. The choice is yours. God doesn’t stop loving you because you leave Him. His godliness is beyond us. He is ready to take you in with His arm open wide. The question is are you ready for Him?
