Proverbs 20:4
“Those too lazy to plow in the right season will have no food at the harvest.”
Dear believers let us not get so consumed with reaping a harvest so much that we fail to even plant, plow, water and fertilize the grounds you have been given. It is possible to be so future focused that you fail to be any good in your present state of being.
If you have any intentions of reaping a harvest there must first be a season of planting and planning. What is it on your mind that you know you must start working towards in order to gain results in the future to come? What must you invest in? Is it a relationship with your children, parents, significant other or friends? Is it a degree, a promotion or a personal entrepreneurial project that has been on your heart? Is it towards your ministry? Whatever it may be you must first plan for it in order to gain anything from it.
In your season take some time out and evaluate. Ask yourself what needs to be planted. What do I need to water? What kind of fertilizer do I need for my grounds? When do I need to weed out all the weeds that grow out of my grounds? A farmer knows the ins and outs of everything he plants. He knows and he has the patience it takes to give every single plant the necessary attention it deserves. Therefore do not neglect your garden no matter how small or big. Cater for everything and allow it the time it needs to bloom and in due time you will have a harvest.
However, remember that you cannot and must not be lazy. You must put in hard work in order to enjoy a harvest. You must also remember to keep God even in the equation of your planting. Keep Him at the center of everything you do.
