Isaiah 30:15
This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.
Often times we stress ourselves and overwhelm ourselves with things that we believe to be true. One of these things is salvation. We feel as though we must work for salvation. The truth however is that God gives salvation to us freely. He chooses whom to call and saves our soul. There is no amount of good you can do on this earth that can equate your salvation. Salvation is God and it is of God. It is through Him and by Him alone that all souls are saved. Stop thinking that salvation is from your own works because it will never be from your work. Even the act of accepting Christ as our Lord and savior is done through God.
You do not have to strive for salvation however when you have been saved, strive to live a life worthy of your calling and strive to build a deep intimate relationship with the Father. That’s where your work comes in. How hard you strive to be good is not what builds your faith or draws you nearer to the Lord because it is very easy to do all the good in the world and still be far from the Lord. This walk isn’t about the great things you can do. It is about relationship so put forth work into building one with your Father above.
