And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing.
One of the things that causes us to loose stability and peace of mind is worry.
Worry can cause you to become so insecure and restless that decisions and actions that are bad begin to look promising. Worrying makes us like the unstable wind blowing from all angles yet lacking a specific direction to follow. Worrying makes us weak and vulnerable, because in the time of worry you let yourself go preparing to accept all loss that may be presented to you. Worry makes you pitiful and desperate. It causes you to take measures that aren’t always necessarily from the Lord.
Now ask yourself, why do I worry when worry only causes desperation and brings about failure and instability? Chances are you cannot answer that question because there is absolutely no reason for you to worry. Look at the lilies of the field and look at nature, how the flowers blossom and the trees stand tall and strong. They grow in beauty and in strength because the Lord takes care of them. Ask yourself again is it true that the Lord will take care of flowers that wither day in and day out, yet cannot take care of me, a human being created in His own image? The answer is no. God will not leave you hanging only to die. He is capable of taking care of you and He will take care of you. Stop letting worry rob you of your peace. Worry does not give you anything rather it takes life away from you. He has already taken care of the very situation you’re worried about. So turn your worry into praise. Know that you are far more important than flowers and the Lord is already working on your behalf.
