Exodus 23:28-30
“I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way. But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.”
Due of our limited nature as humans we tend to give up easily on God. When we ask the Lord for help, doing so with a mental timeline and when that timeline is not met we write God off. This however only hurts us along our journey.
The Lord promised the Israelites that He would drive out the people who were occupying the land they were going to. However because God sees the future and knows the heart of men as well as the decisions the Israelites would make if they are faced with difficult circumstances, He decided not to drive out the the Hittites and the others all at once. He knew that driving them out all at once would brood another issue, so He didn’t. This can be true for our own journey. There maybe times where you ask God for something that He could very well give to you in that very moment however He chose to delay it or to deliver it in a different way simply because He knows you and He knows the future. When you ask God for something, you more than likely do not think of every intricate detail. Because you don’t think of every intricate detail you might not realize that the timeline in which you seek your blessing or your miracle could very well become a burden in another area of your life.
God however measures and account for every detail and that’s why He does not always do everything according to your will. The truth is if He followed your will you would always be left wanting. So the next time you’re doubting God and His timing just know that it is for your own good that He does the things that He does. Trust in Him and in His process.
