Genesis 2:7
Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.
We sometimes forget our identity and power as Christians. Because we have many different things around us such as jobs, school, career, etc. we tend to identify with those things. We are formed of God, and we have His very breath inside of us. The life that we are living is no ordinary life; it is a life that has God Himself in it because His very breath is in it. God made us, so we are far more than these categories and elements in life. These things in our lives do not define us. Our identity is from God; He is our identity. It is imperative that we remind ourselves daily to whom we belong. It is also vital that we identify ourselves with the right person.
In the truth of life, many things will always compete for our attention. Also, our expereinces will try to tell us who and what we are, and force different identities on us. We however, cannot get lost in the lies of this world. We belong to God and God alone. His very breath runs through you. If you are unsure about your character, consider his word. You are His, and for that reason, you carry His breath. Do not get your identity mixed up with the falsehood of this world. You belong to the King. You are priceless.
