Mark 10:29-30
“Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.
It’s difficult for most of us to let go of something or someone of importance to us. We’re are emotional beings and as emotional beings when we feel attachment to something it’s very difficult to let it go. Though it’s hard to give up many things it is very much worth it when you give anything up for the Lord. When you give God your heart and everything else within He is able to do more with it than you ever can. The heart warming assurance we have it that when we move closer to the Lord He reveals everything unto us. He shows us all that we need to lay at the feet if the cross.
The only one we can give everything up for and not loose anything is God. If you give up your life to Him you gain eternity. If you give up your time or your riches or anything else for that matter, big or small you will regain greater things than you loose. He is the only one able to do that. I encourage you to give everything up for the Lord. Is there something you’ve been holding onto because you believe it’s your most prized possession? Put it in the hands of the Lord and see what happens. Do not hold out on God because you loose more by holding out on Him. Throw away the things that are holding you back. There’s a promise for an eternal treat if we obey. You can never loose with God so trust in Him.
