Romans 12:14 NIV “Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.”
Our initial response to an offense is almost always to retaliate. Often times when someone wrongs us, we just jump into fight mode ready to fight and to conquer. When we are presented with persecution and things like we have to take on the characteristics of Jesus. Living like Christ isn’t always going to be the easiest thing to do. Many things will be thrown at you, many temptations will come near you, but if your focus and your faith are in the Lord then you will not be moved.
If your foundation is on the rock, Jesus Christ then no matter the persecution and no matter the trouble you will stand. As a believer persecution will be a part of the life you’ll live. Jesus endured it, therefore, we also must endure it. When persecution comes take your stance in God and allow Him to fight for you. Bless those who persecute you, not allowing persecution to take you out of the character of Christ. Do not do unto others what they do to you if what they do is evil do not repay their evil. Always be the light in the darkness. Always be the salt in every situation. So as it stands persecution will surely come the question is how will you handle it? Will you have control over it or will you allow it to have control over you?
