Ephesians 5:12
Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
Naturally when you see something bad or unpleasant whether from within yourself or from a friend or a loved one the first instinct it to try your best to hide it. Rather than speaking out and exposing certain things when we see it we rather cover it up. The sad reality is that many times when we try to cover these things up we do so by digging ourselves into bigger holes because we use lies and deceptions to cover things up. When we are in the world we will be exposed to many evil, dark and worthless things in which we will be tempted to partake in, one way or the other.
The joy however is the change and liberation that comes with being called into relationship and life with Christ. When we walk with the Lord we begin to take note and identify the things that are worthless and evil. In addition to that the freedom in our new life allows us to overcome and expose those things that we once had the desire to hide. It gives us the liberty to lay bare everything that we have in our lives. It is understandable that when you were in the world you did all you could to cover up evil. However now that you are in Christ, and have power over all things you have the liberty expose everything that ought to be exposed. Hiding evil only gives it room to grow and flourish. However exposing it puts an end to its power and reign. Take stock of your life even in this moment. Is there anything that needs to be exposed? If there is, shine the light of Christ on it, expose it and allow yourself to be free from its hold. You are a new creation and as such you do not have to take part in any worthless deeds of evil, and darkness.
