Ephesians 2:8
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”
When it comes to salvation, we often talk as though we initiated and completed the process. On the contrary, we play only a small part. It God who chooses to call us and He also decides the moment of our calling. It is His Spirit that enabled us to believe, and the same Spirit gave us the grace to accept Christ. You did not get saved because of that conference you attended with your friend where you went to the altar. You received your salvation because God orchestrated that moment and chose to execute His plan at that conference. He planned for you to be in the audience during the altar call, and He put your friend there to accompany you to support you because He knew you would need that.
It may sound over the top, but it goes to show how much the Lord loves you and me. He loves us so much that he meticulously plans the idea and moves towards our salvation. It is His grace that has saved you. Therefore do not play chess with your salvation thinking you are your own master. It is He who saved you, and He who holds your life in His hands. As you have received, work it out, do not allow anyone or anything strip you of what you have graciously accepted. Your salvation came from God and He hand-picked you to be a part of His Kingdom.
