Matthew 4:1
“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”
Whether you believe it or not Jesus was tempted. Jesus, the Great I AM was tempted not once or twice but three times all in a short while. Some of us Christians assume that once we are saved temptations disappear but that’s not the case. The enemy tempts us more when he sees that we have been saved. The only difference is before we were saved we did not have the Holy Spirit but once salvation is bestowed unto us we now have the Holy Spirit to enable us to turn away from all temptations and sin. The truth is you will be tempted in one way or the other. The enemy will use something that you might consider yourself strong in to tempt you. You must come to terms with the fact that being saved doesn’t disqualify you from troubles. It empowers you to overcome the troubles that life will bring.
Life has its turns. It will bring about many ups and downs. It will put you in positions where you will have to prove your loyalty to the things of God. We must be filled and focused on the Lord so much so that we do not misrepresent the Lord. You will be tempted but your attitude and action that follow the temptations speaks volumes. Do you bow to every temptation that presents itself or do we rebuke it and overcome it by the Power of the Blood? We must not give the enemy a foothold. We cannot give any form of temptations the right to take root in us. Overcome all temptations with the truth of His word.
