Genesis 22:12
“And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
How many of us can honestly truly say your will is my command Lord? We all have found ourselves in a place where we were not completely honest with ourselves. A place where we chose to do what favors us rather than what the Lord commands. We will all love to genuinely say that we are not withholding anything from God. But as it stands many times we deceive ourselves just to make our flesh feel good and for our minds to be put at ease. We sing and proclaim loudly I give it all to you Lord, yet we are holding on to a piece of our heart, a piece or our will, our desires, and much more. We turned the simple task of releasing everything to God and allowing His will to be done in such a difficult thing.
We do not need to have control over our lives so let us stop giving God half and keeping half to ourselves. We do not need to think to ourselves that He can’t fix the little things in my life, He’s only good for the big things because that’s completely false. God knows what is best for you and He will always give you what you need. We must give our all to Him because He is a complete God. He is not an idol meant to be visited on our own accord. He is Lord and we must give Him the honor due Him. Make some time for yourself, and search the deepest part of your heart to see what you are withholding from God. Whatever you find, whether small or great give it to Him and watch Him work in your life. Stop withholding from Him because, in the end, you will be the one suffering from the repercussions.
