We always want God to bless us but we usually do not want to go down the narrow road which will lead us to our blessings. We have become fixed on being blessed, that we do not want to take heed of the lessons that come our way. The devil is not always responsible for the things that aren’t going on well in our lives. There are certain circumstances that God will allow you to go through for the betterment of your own self.
There are also some circumstances meant for pruning while others are meant for growth. Just as Christ suffered so we also have to share in His suffering. We can not be people who stick around when everything is well but run afar when things begin to plummet. Rather than blaming the devil for the season you are in, take time to seek God and ask Him what lessons He wants you to learn. It’s possible that the overbearing boss is supposed to help you learn patience, or maybe that needy friend is meant to teach you how to love and be kind.
Let us learn to accept lessons the same way we accept blessings. Job, a man like you and I blessed and worshipped the name of the Lord even when he lost everything including His health. This is because he knew the God He served. With that being said, when trials come into your life ask God for grace to endure what is before you, and grace to learn the lessons He has placed your way.
Job 2:10
“But he said to her, “You speak as one of the [spiritually] foolish women speaks [ignorant and oblivious to God’s will]. Shall we indeed accept [only] good from God and not [also] accept adversity and disaster?” In [spite of] all this Job did not sin with [words from] his lips.”
