Genesis 4:7
“You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
The Bible states in this verse that sin is crouching at our door, eager to control us. Waiting for us to make way so that it can set in and do what it desires. However this same scripture says that we MUST subdue it and become its master. This means that sin is real. Sin is actively trying to overcome us, but it also means we have something that can enable us to subdue and overcome it.
We can overcome and defeat sin as we clearly see in scripture, however we cannot overcome without the Power of the Holy Spirit and the word of God. It is only in God and through God that we have the ability to overcome the workings of sin and the enemy. Sin can be tamed and controlled if you know how to fight with the power of God which is already in you. We must exercise self control and intentionality in this walk. God has given us all the power. Put it to work and watch it work for you. Sin is crouching there is no question about that. Sin will also come in different forms and manners. Don’t be dismayed the power is already in your hand you have what it takes so go to work and defeat the enemy that prowls against you with the Power of the Spirit and of the word.
