January 14
If you were to take some time out and ponder about how many times the Lord has called you, what do you think that number will be? First things first, no one can say zero to the above question because at one point or the other God has called you. Now whether you answered that call or not it’s up to you. Proverbs 1:24-25 NLT ““I called you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attention. You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered.” Now think again of how many times have you ignored the call of the Lord? How many times have you turned your back to Him? How many times have you been nonchalant to the call of Salvation, the call to Ministry, or the call to a particular project or mission?
More often than we will like to admit we get into a place where we feel that we are on top of the world. Where it appears, we know everything and that we do not need God, so we turn a death ear to Him and pay Him no mind. We reject the advice He gives unto us because we think we know it all. be reminded that you will never know it all even if you tried. Sadly, we all find ourselves in the know it all pool, that’s of course until the going gets tough then we remember we once had God. Do not turn away from God when you find yourself in a great season of your life because wherever you may be in your life you will always need Him.
So regardless of how great life is, pay attention to God, obey Him and heed His advice, for irrespective of the season He still remains God! Be careful not to ignore His call because a time will come when you would wish for God to call you but it will be too late.
Proverbs 1:24-25
24 But since you refuse to listen when I call
and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand,
25 since you disregard all my advice
and do not accept my rebuke,
