Which of you can actually say they love discipline? Chances are every one of you reading this post despises discipline. If we were given a chance to choose between discipline and just being left to rot in our bad behaviors we would choose to rot. It’s one of our least favorite things in life but it’s something that we all NEED in life. Hebrews 12:11 “No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward, there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.”
Truly there certainly isn’t a time when discipline is ever enjoyable, and neither is there a moment that we ourselves ask to be disciplined. But truth be told discipline is something that we each need in our lives and it is definitely something we should take pride in receiving from God. It’s nothing short of painful when we are going through it but without it, we will fall off the path we have been given. Without discipline we will each fail at our journey, so we must learn to accept our discipline from God with gladdened hearts.
It is important that we ask God to discipline us instead of running from that which we are given. Always remember discipline is Key and there’s a reward that you receive after your discipline. Also, keep in mind that God only disciplines those He loves, so if He is disciplining you, rejoice in His name! Secondly, imagine how you would feel if your parents failed to discipline you, and you went through life making every mistake in the world. You would eventually grow some animosity towards them for not disciplining you. Although discipline isn’t pleasant it is something that you cannot and should not go without. Just always have it at the back of your mind that if God isn’t disciplining you then He doesn’t love you. Enjoy your discipline when it comes!
