Many of us love to cloth ourselves with religion. More often than not we take pride in being known as Christian but we are not willing to put in the work that is required of us as Christians. Actions will always speak louder than words, therefore we cannot say one thing and do another thing.
With that being said we must learn to act as true Christians. The name we carry has power so therefore we cannot represent it anyhow. Let the words that come out of your mouth testify that you are truly a Christian. Let it show that the Spirit of the Living God indeed lives in you. We cannot profess religion with our tongue and use that same tongue turn around and speak worthlessness. Being a Christian should reflect in everything we do including the words that escape out of our mouths. We have control of what comes out of our mouths, so let us do better in controlling that which we can.
Furthermore, if the person next to you cannot tell who we are through your speech then something needs to change. Not only that but our speech should be able to change that of others whose speech may be foul. We must not allow our tongue negate all that you stand for. Keep a tight reign on your tongue and only speak life through your tongue.
James 1:26 NIV “Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.”
