1 Corinthians 10:14
So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols.
Fleeing from the worship of idols does not necessarily mean you run away from statues or whatever you have built with hands. Idols aren’t what we build physically but the things that which are in our hearts. We cannot get in the habit of worshipping the things that we have placed in our hearts. We cannot worship the things in our hearts while also worshipping God. God does not and cannot share His territory with anyone or anything else. What belongs to Him cannot be given to million and one things all at the same time.
It is very important that we shift through our lives and make the decision to let go of the excess baggage. To throw away everything that weighs us down. Do not trust man more you trust God. Do not take yourself away from God because you have it all or because you do not think you need Him. You will always need God regardless of your state. Put everything on the altar for God. Trust Him and Him alone and worship no one or nothing apart from Him. Flee from everything that keeps you from God.
