Philippians 4:11
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
There is a sense of joy that comes with being content. Imagine the peace of mind you will have when you begin to appreciate the things that you have rather than mopping about the ones you do not have. God wants us to be content with what we have. It is when we are content with what we have and when we are doing the best with what we have been given that we will receive more.
Instead of comparing yourself to everyone else and hoping you have all that they have, try appreciating what you already possess. It is not the quantity that counts but the quality. Do not allow your selfish desires take control of you. Sometimes if we would take some time out to think we will realize that at times we want the things we want for the sake of greed and envy. Therefore do not put yourself in a place where you find yourself wanting everything you set your eyes on especially craving what belongs to your neighbor. Rely on God and His promises and know that He who has promised will never fail.
Be content with that which you have and strive to attain the best you can in all that you do. Be content and thank God daily for what He has graciously blessed you with.
