Colossians 2:7
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
Our foundations are critical. What you are built upon and what you’re made of make all the difference in the world. If your foundation is weak, and the material you’re made of is weak, you become a very fragile person. One who is blown in all directions by the wind. You become someone of unstable mind. Easily persuaded, very gullible and lost all together.
One whose foundation is Christ and whose roots are deeply planted in the truth of God is always able to stand. They have power over the wind. They are not easily persuaded neither is it easy to confuse or them or turn them from truth. These are the ones who knows the truth and the fullness thereof.
It’s important to know what your roots are firmly planted in so that you can make changes if needed. Our roots must be grounded in Him and our lives built on Him. We must live our lives in accordance with His word and trail the path He has laid. Secondly to live in Him our minds must be fit. We must think on the things worthy of Him, things that are pure and unadulterated. When our focus is on Him and in His truth we are able to grow in our faith because we know what is truth even when things don’t seem to be going well.
When we are grounded in Him we are able to grow and be thankful and grateful in all our circumstances. It is only when we are grounded that we are able to to praise our way in and throughout the storms of life.
Check your grounds and see what you are made of and what you are rooted in.
