John 14:27
“I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
Gods peace is truly a gift like no other. One irony in life is the fact that people will loose their lives for the sake of chasing after things that only God can give them, yet they will not die to their flesh and give their lives to the one who possess all the things they desire. What sense is there in loosing your life physically and completely and not gaining what you’re looking for, when you have the privilege of dying spiritually to gain physically and spiritually. The answer is none. For most of us the things we are chasing after and reaching for can only be given to us by God and through God. We must understand that what the world offers us is all vain and at some point will come to an end.
We must also understand that the things that the world offers us are nothing compared to what the Lord can give. God’s gifts are real and pure, while the worlds gifts are counterfeit that only seek to imitate what God has. What ever you are looking for, you will not find it in the world, and if you find it in the world it is only an illusion of the real thing. The world cannot and will never be able to provide you with what you are hungering for. Even in peace, what God gives cannot be compared with the world portion of peace. You deserve the very best and that best can only come from the Lord. Refocus your mind and seek after the Lord for the world can only offer you that which perishes.
