Testing what comes our way is, unfortunately, something that most of us overlook, but we must live our lives in a way where we do not just take everyone’s word as is. Not all that glitters is gold. There are many evil out there that have been clothed in beauty and unless we test whatever you are presented with, you will be fooled. We must test everything that comes our way even the things we believe to be true. Whether its something that comes from our pastor, our parents, our mentors or even our most trusted confidant. The responsibility of testing everything that comes our way is completely ours. When someone comes to you and preach the word of God to you, you do not take what they say at face value you must go back to your word and confirm what you have heard.
God, Himself makes it clear that we must test all things, and that’s one thing we must take seriously. 21 But test [a]all things carefully [so you can recognize what is good]. Hold firmly to that which is good. Do not sit down hoping that someone will validate anything for you. You must go to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to reveal things to you. Do not be fooled by taking everything you hear at face value, if God’s word urges us to test everything then we must do so.
