Romans 8:28
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
Far too often none-believers and believers alike take scripture and tear out bits and pieces of what they like and run with it. Most people take the first half or the ending part of scripture and run. They do not take time to read and understand the entirety of the scripture and because of that they walk around professing half truths. Take this scripture for instance, everything work together for the good of those who love the Lord. That’s where we end forgetting that there’s a continuation which counts just as much. It’s easy to only hold on the the beginning part because everyone believes that they love the Lord. On the contrary if we do a heart check most of us will come to find that our hearts are far from the Lord in which case the first part of scripture doesn’t even apply to us.
However when you move on to the conclusion part of this scripture it gives you the condition of which all things work together. You see that indeed all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord, AND to those who are called according to His purpose. This means it is not just those who love God but those that are also called according to the purpose of God. It is imperative that we go deeper into Gods word. It is also important that we do not take only the parts of scripture that we feel is beneficial to us but rather taking everything in its entirety and running with it.
