Psalm 86:11
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.
The manner in which we can come to know the ways of the Lord is by dedicating ourselves to be students of the Word. If we have no desire to know the word, or if we put no effort in studying we will have no means of the knowing the ways of God. God teaches us His ways on a daily basis. In fact we have an entire book filled with stories and scriptures that teach us the ways of the Lord. However we will never know His ways if we do not make the effort in searching out His word for ourselves.
God has given us all that we need to build our relationship with Him. We learn through reading and as such we must dedicate our lives and time to reading, meditating, studying, and practicing the word of God in our every day life. We must allow ourselves to indulge in the scriptures, as well as listen to seasoned men and women who are learned in scripture. Living in according to the truth requires you to know the truth, therefore you must be diligent and intentional. The Lord is always ready to teach and inspire but we also have to do our part. Lastly, in learning His ways do well to also ask for the grace of being pure at heart.
