April 10
1 Peter 3:18“
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.”
Remember that on a day like this someone gave up their life for you. On a day like this someone sacrificed their Son so that you may have life and have it more abundantly. On a day like this the savior went into the grave. He went in carrying all your sins and the sins of this world. He carried all the plague of sin, the filth, the pain and everything else that came with it. On a day like this He drunk of the cup that none is us could have ever dared to drink. The cup that carried every sin and filth, He drunk of that cup boldly that you may not have to endure that cup. On a day like this the earth went silent because the savior was buried.
On a day like this, remember why you are alive. Remember that your life is not your own. That you owe your life to the one who gave Himself up so that you may live. On a day like this don’t you dare boast in yourself thinking that you were the one who made the decision to give your life to Christ. Do not think for a second that you are saved because of a decision you have made, because had Christ not called you into Himself you would still be lost and doomed. As we celebrate the death of our Savior remember that He died so that you may live. Therefore as you now have life, you dare not live for anyone else but Him. He is good and His mercies endures forever.
