Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
It’s not safe neither is it healthy to isolate one’s self from the body of believers. When you are in the fellowship of other children of God, you have a different set of eyes upon you, that are watching you to ensure your safety. When you are with them it is very difficult to fall because someone will always be there to nudge you when you’re going south. The presence of godly friends in our lives is very important because it gives us the chance to be accountable to someone and for something.
When you have a friend, you can never remain fallen because they will lift you up even in your mess. They will raise you up from that fallen place, help you to dust yourself and even aid you in continuing on with life. There is great value attached to a friend, but not just any friend, but one who fears the Lord, because only they will speak the unadulterated truth to you even when it hurts.
No woe him who have no companion. Him who thinks he is ok and can do all things on his own. Him who does not realize the importance of godly companionship. For when falls he remains fallen because he has no one to draw him out. He has no one to pass correction unto him. Neither does he have anyone who will fight for him.
Therefore do not isolate yourself from the body of believers lest you find yourself wanting and suffocating, trying to grasp what air you find. Do not only find a good friend but you too be a good friend
