Mark 10:29-30
“Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.
It is very easy to loose hope when your eyes aren’t focused on the right target. Sometime we hold so tightly unto the things that the world offers to us. In many cases we loose our sense of self in the process. We fight the wrong battles to hold on to the wrong treasures. We leave behind what matters in order to take hold of the very things that cannot even sustain us. Although all things aren’t negative there are something’s that we cannot hold dearly unto.
In our relationship and as we grow in Christ He begins to reveal to us the very elements in our lives that needs to be surrendered to Him. As crazy as it may sound, sometimes our families and jobs are the very things that need to be surrendered. It sounds absurd, because what can family possibly have to do with anything. But the reality is that sometimes the very things that makes us, the very things that are closest to us are the same things that draw us away from God. When we make the decision to enter into Gods Kingdom we must understand that there are certain sacrifices that needs to be made. As you have been called into the Kingdom, understand that there are certain things that you must let go. Do not love those things more than you do God. As you live daily ask for grace to let go of yourself.
