What do you think of when freedom comes to mind? Freedom is the power to do, without restraint or hindrance. In other words, it is the absence of subjection and it is a beautiful thing. To have your freedom and liberty is not something that can be bought, and even if it were for sale all the riches on earth combined couldn’t attain it. Secondly, to be free from the grips of this world is one thing many long for, but because we serve the Living God we have been given that freedom.
Even though we have been called to freedom and have received it, it is our duty not to abuse that freedom. We must not use our freedom as a means to indulge in sinful pleasures and worldliness. As people who have been given freedom through Christ Jesus, we ought to live our lives free of sin and anything that resembles sin. Use your freedom to serve others and draw others into the Kingdom, do not use it as a means to indulge in the world. Lastly be careful how you walk the walk of your freedom, it should be a walk over sin not a walk in sin. In essence, Freedom is a gift we all yearn for, but it through grace that we can attain it. Therefore as we have been given that grace let us all tread wisely.
Galatians 5:13
“For you, my brothers were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another.”
