Romans 2:13
“For merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight.”
Hearing alone is not enough. To hear something, for instance, an advice and doing nothing to show you have heard and taken in that particular thing is useless. God is a God of action not one of mere idleness. “We can all sit in church and hear God’s word. However, just listening to listen doesn’t make a difference, neither does it benefit us in any way. It is the application of the words you hear in your life that’s what counts. We must be doers of the word and not merely hearers.
Going to church is not about walking out and feeling good. It is about putting your knowledge into use and doing what He has commanded you to do. This is what makes us right in His eyes. We must obey His every Word. We must do everything we can to ensure that we are obeying God and doing what He desires for us to do. Be doers of His word because that’s how we can draw others to God! When people see us walking the walk and not just talking for talking seek, they too will begin to do what we are doing.
