Jeremiah 2:13
“For my people have done two evil things: They have abandoned me— the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all!”
Why do we leave God, and all the goodness He gives unto us only to suffocate for unnecessary things? Imagine having a beautiful, refreshing stream of water, and rejecting it to dig up a filth-infested pond. Welcome to life, because that’s the sad reality that most of us live. Whether we admit to it or not, most people have abandoned God and His presence in our lives. Leaving God, however, only hurts us in the long run, because if you do not have God, your life will never be fulfilling. A life lived without God is a life that is missing peace, love, joy, guidance, etc. when you live your life absent of Christ, you will always be found wanting.
There’s no sense in struggling when you have someone who has all the answers to your life questions and destiny in His hands. Do not settle for a filthy pond when you can have an ocean of eternal waters. Do not leave God only to chase after dogs and feces. God has everything that you will ever need in His possession, just as much as He has everything you want. Do not trade Him for anything in this, because He is far more worthy than anything else. Search for God and remain in Him, for He alone is sure and true.
