Matthew 7:13-14
““Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
We often carry so many different baggage on us. Most of us come to God and we want Him to allow us to bring all the mess we once had. We want to bring sin, depression, pride, complacency, envy, faithlessness, etc. into the abode of God and we expect Him to embrace us warmly. There is only one road and one gate that can and will lead us to God and that is the NARROW road. The road that very few thread upon. On this road you cannot take anything with you except the Lord Himself. The only way to even make it onto the road is by emptying yourself of everything. You cannot enter into a gate that is only a few inches wide with any form of luggage no matter how small, ( a small personal purse will even be an issue).
If you want to live and truly have life you must walk in that narrow path. That is where you can find life in abundance. Similarly if you want to live a dead life, moving around vibrantly yet being dead at the core of your soul then the broad road of destruction is open. However only a fool will deliberately thread its paths. Only the senseless will subject themselves to such destruction. Choose wisely the path you will take.
