When was the last time you called on a brother or a sister simply to check on them? Chances are that doesn’t happen often. What usually happens is that we wait for others to reach out to us because we don’t think we should be the ones doing it. Other times we feel like we do it enough so it is someone else’s turn.
The kingdom of God doesn’t call us to be like man, rather it calls us tobe like Christ. Only Christ will reach out to us even when we don’t deserve it. Only He constantly give to us and do for us what we don’t deserve. Only He loves us when we run far away from love. We are called to be perfect as He is perfect. This means being the representation of the perfect Christ. It means giving or loving wholeheartedly when it is not deserved. Do not wait until you feel someone desires mercy, love, or the gift of time before giving it. Give it because God first gave it to you. And do not think of yourself more highly than anyone. Be a brother, be a sister, be a friend.
Proverbs 17:17 “A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.”
