Daniel 1:8
“But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.”
How many times have you defiled yourself on account of pleasing the world? How many times did you give in to temptation willingly for selfish desires? We each have a purpose in our lives. In every season we find ourselves in, the Lord places us there for a specific reason. For this reason, we must thrive in every season we find ourselves. We all know what the Lord requires of us, and we know the life we ought to live as children of God. Because we know this we must always obey the Lord and not allow ourselves to be compromised in any way.
The temptations of our age are great, but our Lord is greater. Do not allow defilement in your body or your heart even if just for a moment. Stand up for your faith and turn down sin from every angle it may come. You are born for greatness through Christ. Therefore you must shine in every season you find yourself. You must not compromise to the false kings in your life. Do not bow down to any unnecessary spirit. Do not compromise because you know what is required of you. Place God above all else, and do not bow to any lesser element in your life.
